The yearbook staff has now filled all ad space for Embers 2019 and cannot accommodate any additional requests at this time. Thanks to all family, friends, and businesses who purchased ad space–we appreciate your support!
The 2018 yearbook dedication, distribution, and signing celebration will take place in the Paul D. Mengold gymnasium on Tuesday, June 5th, from 1:30-3:00. Seniors participating in the SSLP are invited back during the last session of the school day to take part in the event and are advised to make arrangements with their internship supervisors in advance; this school activity counts toward their internship hours. If students have not yet purchased a yearbook, they can do so at the event for $80.00 (cash only). Please note that this event is for seniors only; underclassmen will receive their yearbooks during lunch waves beginning the following day.
Are you creative? Do you like design? Embers is designed annually by a team of student staff members who work to complete a new edition from cover to cover. If you’re interested in joining our team, click here to apply today. Applications are due on Friday, May 11th. See Mr. Clark, Mr. Gaipa, or Liz Frieden with any questions.
Hey, Amity Students!
Do you have a close group of friends—perhaps including a senior? Have you been playing a sport with the same friends for years? Will your club just never be the same after the class of 2018 moves on?
The Embers staff is excited to offer you the opportunity to honor the bond you’ve made with members of this year’s graduating class in the 2018 yearbook—purchase a friend ad today! Bring in those old pictures from the eighth-grade dance or pumpkin carving night and make a collage that will preserve those memories for years to come!
Want to take out an ad as a group? Even better! This is a great way to celebrate your club or team’s achievements this year! The more people who chip in, the cheaper the ad will be!
Interested? Click here to check out a flyer/order form, e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or see Mr. Clark, Mr. Gaipa, Liz Frieden, or Hannah Epstein with any questions.
Calling all senior parents! Are you looking to honor and encourage your graduating senior with a grad ad in the yearbook? Our last Embers Grad Ad Design Night of the year will be on Thursday, February 8th from 4-7 p.m. in AHS computer lab 501 (across from the cafe). Take care of everything at once—paperwork, payment, etc. Appointments are not necessary.
Calling all seniors! It’s Senior Superlative time! “Senior Superlatives” is a yearbook section that represents the memories and personalities of the senior class. This year’s survey will be available through PowerSchool beginning this Wednesday, November 8th. We’ll have instructions posted here that morning to guide you through the process. Who’s got the nicest eyes? Who is most likely to succeed? Be sure to cast your vote! The survey will close on November 23rd.
This Thursday, 11/9, Embers will be hosting a fall sports meeting! All fall captains or their representatives are invited to come to lab 501 at 2:30 p.m. We ask that you tell us about team experiences and help us choose photos so that your team is accurately portrayed in the yearbook. Please mark your calendars and be sure to stop by!
Underclassmen photo make-ups and re-takes will be taken in the district presentation room from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 1st. If you still need to have your school photo taken or would like to have it retaken, you’ll need to go to the district presentation room during a study hall period if possible; if you do not have a study hall during periods 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7, see Mr. Clark or Mr. Gaipa to obtain a pass before the end of the day on Tuesday, October 31st. All students desiring a re-take will need to return their original photo packages, including all photos. There is a also $5 re-take fee. Checks should be made out to Robert Taylor Photography.
Send us your cutest baby pics, class of 2018! The yearbook staff is now collecting baby pictures for the “senior scrapbook” section of Embers. Scan your photos and upload them directly to us! Visit amityembers.com and click “Submit Photos (eShare)” beneath the “seniors” tab. Please send only high-resolution photos. Hard copy photos can be dropped off in the “Baby Pictures” box in the main office. All hard copies should be clearly labeled so that they can be returned to their owners. All photo submissions are due Wednesday, November 22nd. Please keep submissions to just one per person. If you send us more than one, we’ll just be forced to pick our favorite! See Mr. Clark or Mr. Gaipa with any questions.
