Virtual Yearbook Signing Interest Survey

Attention, class of 2020!

We recognize that the signing of yearbooks is a time-honored and treasured tradition for seniors. Because the current situation will make yearbook signing difficult, however, we are looking into options for an alternative, “virtual yearbook signing.” Before we finalize any plans, however, we want to hear from you! Please take this quick survey to let us know whether you’re interested in the idea of a virtual yearbook signing.

Although we don’t yet have all the details worked out, this virtual signing would provide community members the opportunity to share messages (and possibly photos) with members of the class of 2020.

On behalf of the entire Embers staff, we thank you in advance for your responses, your patience, and your understanding.

Mr. Clark and Mrs. Hulse
Yearbook Advisors

Yearbook Distribution Delayed

Given the impact of Amity’s closure on the yearbook production process, the cancellation of many events and activities that would have been featured in the book, and the closure of our publisher’s printing plant, the completion and distribution of Embers 2020 has been delayed. At this time, the yearbook staff hopes to distribute books sometime in July. However, additional delays are still possible as the situation evolves. More information to follow.

Distribution Day Set!

Mark your calendars! The 2020 yearbook dedication, distribution, and signing celebration will take place in the John J. Brady Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, June 4th, from 4:30-6:00.

Please note that this event is for seniors only; there will be a separate, in-school distribution event for underclassmen, and no underclassmen in attendance at the senior event will be given books.

Sold Out—Again!

For the second year in a row (and much earlier this time around), the yearbook staff is excited to have reached its sales goal for this year; at this point, there are no longer any books available for purchase.

Our publisher may be able to provide us with additional books prior to distribution day, but as there is no guarantee that they will be able to do that or how many they will be able to provide, the yearbook staff has begun keeping a waiting list for those still interested in purchasing books. In order to get their name on the waiting list, students must see either Mr. Clark or Mrs. Hulse in person (we will not honor e-mail requests), and they must provide the full purchase price of $85, either in cash or by check (made out to ARHS). Students will be refunded if their requests are unable to be fulfilled after Tuesday, June 9th. Please note that the waiting list will prioritize seniors over underclassmen.

Seniors, Complete Your Senior Questionnaire TODAY!

Attention seniors! The 2020 senior yearbook questionnaire is now live!

You can access the survey above in the “For Seniors” menu. Be sure to tell us about all the great things you’ve done during your time at Amity, provide us with a quote you feel represents you, and cast your vote for this year’s yearbook dedication! All questionnaires are due on Friday, November 8th. Late submissions may not appear in the yearbook due to deadline constraints, so be sure to complete this form on time! See Abby Wisnewski, Danielle Lee, Mrs. Hulse, or Mr. Clark with any questions.

The 2020 Senior Superlatives Survey is Up and Running!

Calling all seniors! Who’s got the nicest eyes? Who’s most likely to become famous on TikTok? No, seriously—we want you to tell us! In fact, we’re depending on your responses to create the yearbook’s “Senior Superlatives” feature, which will reflect some of the most memorable personalities of the senior class. Help us to make sure that Embers 2020 reflects its seniors accurately by casting your votes today! You can access the survey above in the “For Seniors” menu. It will close on November 27th.

Last Call for Senior Portraits!

“Last chance” senior portraits will be taken on Friday, September 27th, in the district presentation room. If you/your child missed an appointment at the end of last school year or over the summer, this will be the very last opportunity to have a portrait taken in time to be included in the yearbook.

All seniors who have not yet had their portraits taken will be receiving appointment cards during homeroom on Thursday, September 19th. We will also be sharing an electronic version of the complete schedule for these sessions with all seniors soon.

We want all our seniors to be in the yearbook, so please note that THERE IS NO CHARGE for this single sitting. For multiple sittings, please contact Robert Taylor Photography at (203)377-0739 to schedule an appointment at the studio.
